GBV WATCH:Man Drugged, Wakes Up to Find His Car Stolen in Kiambu

A 41 year old employee of Family Bank is believed to have been drugged before his car was stolen in Kiambu County, prompting investigations by detectives.

The victim, Samuel Muchiri an employee of Family Bank,Kiambu reported to Kiambu Police Station that the incident began on Saturday afternoon when he was drinking at the Administration Police (AP) Canteen in Kiambu.

He told police that two men he did not know joined him at his table and they began drinking together.

Shortly afterwards, his Itel mobile phone disappeared.

Despite searching for it, the phone could not be traced.

The group later travelled together in his white Toyota Axio making several stops after the vehicle ran out of fuel.

One of the strangers reportedly paid Sh1,000 for fuel at a petrol station along Kiambu Road before they proceeded to another entertainment spot where the same man also settled the drinks bill.

According to the report, the trio later drove to Muchiri’s home in Ruthiruini.

He parked the vehicle outside his gate and went inside to pick an item but suddenly lost consciousness.

He only regained consciousness at about 9 p.m. the following day and discovered that his vehicle had disappeared from where it had been parked.

The stolen car had no tracking device installed.

Police officers visited the scene, documented it, and confirmed that the vehicle was missing.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kiambu East have launched investigations into the suspected stupefying and motor vehicle theft as efforts to trace the suspects and recover the car continue.
