Jogger Mauled by 15 Dogs at Kilifi Beach, Hospitalised with Serious Injuries

A 36 year old man is receiving treatment after he was attacked by a pack of 15 German Shepherd dogs while exercising along a beach in Kilifi County.

The victim, identified as Samuel Kahindi Charo, was reportedly jogging on the shores of the Indian Ocean near Sun N Sand Beach Hotel in Kikambala at around 7.30am on Thursday when the dogs descended on him, inflicting severe injuries.

According to a police report filed at Kijipwa Police Station, the incident was reported by his brother, John Msuko, who said the dogs belonged to a well known individual whose name he could not immediately recall.

Charo, who sustained serious injuries to various parts of his body, was rushed to Kilifi Teaching and Referral Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment and further medical management.

Police have launched investigations into the incident, with officers from Kijipwa Police Station handling the case.
