At first glance, Joseph’s story appears headed for a tragic ending. He had been betrayed by his brothers, stripped of his robe, sold into slavery, and taken to a foreign land. Yet this verse is not the end of the story—it is the beginning of God’s greater plan.
What looked like rejection was actually divine redirection. God was positioning Joseph exactly where he needed to be for the fulfillment of the dreams He had given him. The pit, the caravan, and even Potiphar’s house were all steps toward the palace.
There are moments when life seems unfair and confusing. Doors close, people betray us, and circumstances appear to move us further from God’s promises. But our God is always working behind the scenes. He can use even painful experiences to prepare us for a greater purpose.
Father, help me to trust You when I cannot understand my circumstances. Give me faith to believe that You are working all things together for Your glory and my good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
