A GSU) officer was brutally killed by unknown attackers who stormed his home in Bondo,Siaya County in the early hours of Monday, leaving his wife unharmed.
The deceased was identified as Police Corporal Henry Okello Omondi Ojudi, 44, attached to the GSU Headquarters.
The attack occurred at Got Nyapong Village within the Lwala Kotiende area at around 2.30 a.m.
According to police, two assailants with their faces covered forced their way into the couple’s bedroom after breaking the door.
Armed with a panga and a sword, they attacked the officer before dragging him outside the house.
His wife was not injured during the incident.
The attackers fled into the darkness immediately after the assault.
Police said nothing was stolen from the house, and the motive behind the killing remains unknown.
A team comprising detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Bondo, the Sub-County Criminal Investigations Officer (SCCIO), and officers from Lwala Kotiende Police Station visited and processed the scene before the body was moved to Bondo Sub-County Hospital Mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
Police have launched investigations into the murder and are pursuing leads to identify and arrest those responsible.
