Police in Samia,Busia County have recovered 306 large rolls of cannabis sativa (bhang) during a raid after acting on information from members of the public.
According to a police report, officers received information at about 6.00 p.m. on Wednesday that a suspect had prepared a consignment of bhang for transportation from a homestead in Nyakwaka Village.

The officers swiftly raided the home, where they recovered a white sack containing 306 large rolls of bhang believed to belong to one Evans Mbanga 9f Bumala in Butula sub county.
However, the suspect escaped through the back door before he could be arrested.
The recovered consignment was taken to Sio Port Police Station, where it is being held pending weighing and valuation by anti-narcotics experts.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect as investigations continue.
