A MauMau lobby group has written to government officials in the Western region, calling for enhanced security and government assistance during the burial of slain Mt. Elgon aspirant Nathan Wasama.

The MauMau Veterans Associates, led by Director James Mahuria through its Chief Executive Officer Emma Kais, said Wasama was a respected Sabaot elder who deserved a dignified burial free from chaos and violence.

In a separate letter addressed to the Regional Commissioner, the group urged the government to provide necessary assistance to the bereaved family and ensure adequate security during the burial ceremony.

The lobby group appealed to all leaders, residents and mourners attending the ceremony to maintain peace and accord Wasama the respect befitting his status in the community.
