Kamagut Senior School in Leseru Location, Turbo, Uasin Gishu County, has been closed indefinitely following student unrest that reportedly caused damage estimated at Sh2.6 million.

The closure was announced on Friday following a meeting convened by Turbo Sub-County Education Director Dr. Alice Sitienei, attended by the school’s board chairperson, Joseph Mangare, other board members and the school management.

The unrest was reported on Thursday prompting follow up engagements between education officials and the school administration.

Following the decision, Grade 10 and Form Three learners went home after completing their examinations, while Form Four students also left the school.

However, 20 Form Four candidates who are scheduled to begin their national examinations on October 19, 2026, remained at the institution.

The learners left the school compound peacefully following the closure decision.
