Abwao wins this year’s International Women’s Day’s golf tournament in Nyali

Tom Abwao has won this year’s International Women’s Day’s golf tournament played at Nyali Golf & Country Club in Mombasa county.

He trounced a field of 200 golfers and managed to post 43 points playing off handicap 24 before being crowned overall winner.

Joseph Kaguru won in the men’s category after posting 39 points on count-back playing off 19 handicap.

The runners up award in the men’s category went to Wilson Rading after posting 39 points playing off 25 handicap.

The award winner in the women’s category was Joyce Kamau after she posted 41 points on count-back playing off handicap 25.

The runners up award went to Nancy Gathunga after posting 41 points playing off handicap 23.

Veteran golfer Mary Kandu walked away with the third award after she posted 37 points playing off handicap 9.

The tournament best senior award went to Faried Ismail after he posted 36 points playing off handicap 19.

Emmalyne Kamau, playing off handicap 44, won the trophy in the junior category after posting 49 points.

The tournament’s guest winner award went to James Kamau after posting 40 points on count-back playing off handicap 24.
