Police in Kakuyuni,Machakos county are investigating an incident where an ex-husband to a police officer poured an acid on her uniform.
The ex husband is too reported to be a prison officer at Industrial area prison,Nairobi.
Police are treating the matter as a malicious damage to government property.
The police officer reported that her uniforms were destroyed using a corrosive substance suspected to be acid.
According to an incident report filed at Kakuyuni Police Station yesterday the complainant,a police Constable stated that the incident occurred at around 4:00 pm at her residence near Kakuyuni Shopping Centre.
In her report seen by Daily News Kenya-International she stated that she was on duty at the station at the time and was alerted by her house help.
The house helped informed her that her former husband an officer attached to Industrial Area Remand Prison, had gone to her house and poured the suspected acid on her belongings.
A visit to the scene was conducted by the Deputy OCS Kakuyuni, accompanied by officers from the station and personnel from the Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) unit in Kangundo.
Investigators established that the substance had been poured on government issued items including two pairs of Persian blue police uniforms, a navy blue trouser, a white blouse and a beret, as well as assorted personal effects.
Police have launched investigations before they arrest the suspect.
