Police in Diani, Kwale County, have arrested a 66 year old Austrian national after his wife complained of death threats.
Police too at the south coast recovered a pistol and ammunition at their residentisl home.
The suspect, identified as Kruppik Tomasz, was arrested yesterday after his wife, Juliah Waceke Mwangi, reported to Police that he had been threatening her with a firearm at their home in Stow City Estate along Beach Road (Mwisho wa Lami).
Acting on the complaint, police officers under the command of the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Diani rushed to the scene where they conducted a search and recovered a Kimar Competitive revolver pistol, black in colour.
They also recovered 28 rounds of blank ammunition, three of which were found loaded in the revolver, alongside a cartridge, a black plastic pistol carrier, and a cleaning rod.
The scene was processed and documented by crime scene investigators from Kwale.
Police further established that the suspect’s alien registration status expired on June 12, 2025, raising additional concerns over his stay in the country.
The suspect and the recovered exhibits were escorted to Diani Police Station and placed in lawful custody.
He was expected to be charged with threatening to kill and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition without a valid civilian firearm certificate.
