“Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” — Genesis 2:7
In the beginning, humanity was merely a masterpiece of clay—beautifully formed, yet motionless. It wasn’t until the Creator leaned in and shared His own breath that we gained a soul, a purpose, and the capacity to grow.
When we feel stagnant, “stuck,” or spiritually dry, it is often because we are trying to produce fruit using our own limited oxygen. We work harder, yet feel emptier. But the promise of Genesis 2:7 is that God’s breath is what transforms potential into productivity.
When He breathes upon our work, our relationships, and our dreams, they shift from “dust” to “living beings.” His Spirit provides the vitality required to be truly fruitful—not just busy, but impactful. Today, stop striving and start inhaling His grace.
Take a “Holy Pause” today. Spend five minutes in silence, consciously exhaling your anxieties and inhaling the life-giving Spirit of God. Ask Him to breathe fresh vision into one specific area of your life where you feel stagnant.
