Bible verse of the day:The Fear That Feeds the Soul

Pst Roy Agoya

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” — Proverbs 14:12

A young traveler once insisted he knew a shortcut through the forest.

The path looked smooth, wide, and inviting. Ignoring the warning signs, he followed what “felt right.”

Hours later, he found himself lost, exhausted, and in danger. What seemed right nearly destroyed him.

Scripture tells us that our own understanding can be dangerously limited.

Proverbs 14:12 reminds us that human reasoning, when disconnected from God, can lead to spiritual ruin.

This is why the fear of the Lord is so essential. The fear of the Lord is not terror—it is holy reverence, deep awe, and a sober awareness that God alone sees the end from the beginning.

When we truly fear the Lord, we stop trusting our impulses above His Word.

We develop a hunger and thirst for Scripture because we recognize it as our compass.

Reverence produces dependence. Dependence produces pursuit. We begin to crave His voice more than our opinions, His wisdom more than cultural trends, and His correction more than human approval.

The fear of the Lord guards our steps. It humbles our pride. It drives us to open the Bible before making decisions. It teaches us to pause and ask, “Lord, what is Your way?”

Today, choose the path of reverence. Let holy fear awaken a fresh hunger for His Word. In His truth is life, direction, and safety.
