Police in Athi River have arrested 45 individuals following a violent confrontation over women between two groups attending separate events at Lukenya Gateway Resort.
The incident was reported today at Athi River Police Station today morning.
The groups reportedly confronted each other over a dispute involving women, which quickly escalated into a fight.
Beer bottles were used as weapons, resulting in malicious damage to hotel facilities of an unknown value.
Police reinforcement was dispatched to the scene, where officers subdued the suspects and escorted them to Athi River Police Station.
All were found to be drunk and disorderly at the time of arrest and are being held pending further investigations.
Authorities have warned against alcohol fuelled violence at entertainment venues, urging event organizers and patrons to prioritize safety and lawful conduct.
