Anxiety is growing across the country following reports that former Cabinet Secretary and prominent political figure Raphael Tuju went missing on Saturday evening.
The matter has prompted urgent calls for action by security agencies.
In a strongly worded statement by Presidential aspirant Eliud Owalo, concern was raised over Tuju’s whereabouts, with an appeal made to the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja to direct the National Police Service to launch immediate, thorough, and coordinated investigations.
He urged the authorities to move with speed and transparency, while keeping the public and the family informed of any developments.
Citing the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, and the National Police Service Act, in his statement,Owalo emphasized the State’s obligation to safeguard life, liberty, and security, and to promptly investigate any incident that threatens these rights.
He urged police to take all lawful measures necessary to establish Tuju’s whereabouts and guarantee his safety.
Members of the public have also been urged to come forward with any credible information that could assist in resolving the mystery surrounding his disappearance.
As concern deepens, messages of solidarity continue to pour in for Tuju’s family, friends, and colleagues, with many Kenyans expressing hope for his safe return.
