Courage to make Ruto one President on,Says Maraga

United Green Movement (UGM) party presidential flag bearer David Maraga has said that his quest to oust President William Ruto is still on course.

He said they are out to ensure the incumbent head of state goes home without a go home package.

“I’m ready to unite with leaders to fight the massive corruption in our country,” he said.

Maraga said that apart from the war against the vice he will also join forces with leaders out to end impunity.

Maraga who is also the former Chief Justice spoke during an interview at Mombasa’s Moi international airport on his arrival for a five day tour in the coast region.

He will camp in the region to sensitize youths on the importance of registering to vote in the 2027 general election.

The UGM party presidential flag bearer told the media he is on a mission to sensitize those who have not yet registered as voters for the 2027 polls.

Maraga added that he will traverse the entire 47 counties to urge youths to come out in large numbers to register as voters for the coming polls.

He said his concern is with the numbers of youths who are still unregistered as voters in time for the 2027 polls.

“I am out to mobilise youths to register as voters for the 2027 general election,” he said.

On his part, UGM party leader Agustino Neto who was flanked by young party aspirants announced they have lined up several party activities in the region during their five day tour.

He said the party has young aspirants across the entire country.

“Today we are marking the World Wetlands Day celebration with the rest of the world,” he said.

UGM party secretary general Katto Wambua said violation of the country’s constitution has contributed to the ruin of the economy.

He said he wishes to send a passionate appeal to members of the public who have not yet registered as voters to do so.

‘’We have launched a caravan campaign for the exercise to be successful ahead of the 2027 polls,” he pointed out.

Executive Director of his 2027 Presidential Campaign Secretariat Prof. Mkawasi Mcharo told journalists they have taken the voters registration campaign as a serious issue and the party has given it priority.

She said they have resolved to start the campaign with Mombasa county being the gateway to the East Africa region.

“Time has come to bring leadership change through the democratic space in our country,” she pointed out.
