Drunkard man burns two bedroomed semi permanent house in Kisii

A drunkard man who was threatening to kill his wife has burnt a family house in Kisii.

The suspect aged 27 years old was after a report presented to Kenyenya police arrested.

Police established that the man carried out the arson following a domestic dispute in Nyabiore Township, Nyamacheo Location.

According to a report filed at Magenche Police Station in evening today,the incident was reported by Grace Nyangwari, who stated that she had unresolved family differences with her husband Joshua Onchari.

Police were informed that at around 10:00 a.m., the suspect, who was reportedly intoxicated and armed with a panga, threatened to kill his wife and burn their house.

Later the same day, he carried out the threat by setting their home on fire.

Police officers from Magenche Police Station responded to the scene and established that a two bedroom semi permanent house made of mud and iron sheets had been completely destroyed by the fire.

No property was salvaged. The estimated value of the house and household items destroyed is Sh 200,000.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and is currently in police custody, pending arraignment.

He is expected to be charged with arson contrary to Section 332(a) of the Penal Code.
