A gang of armed robbers posing as police officers staged a daring night raid on a godown along Road C in South B, Nairobi, escaping with goods of unknown value, including a high-end Apple laptop valued at Sh 360,000.

According to a police report recorded at South B Police Station, the incident occurred on Monday evening at a godown located within Hajji Motors Godown.

The break in was reported by Jamal Firin Iid, a director at SDD and Switcher Company Limited, who said he received an alert at around 8:22pm from Securex control room indicating that the godown had been attacked.

He rushed to the premises and confirmed the incident before alerting police.

Preliminary investigations established that at about 7:30pm, a group of approximately five men forcefully gained entry into the premises while masquerading as police officers.

The suspects claimed they were pursuing a suspect, a tactic that allowed them access without immediate resistance.

Two private security guards manning the main gate from Flashcom Security Company and Relay Falcon Security were overpowered, restrained, and tied up as the assailants carried out the theft.

Police officers from South B Police Station, led by the Officer Commanding Station (OCS), the duty officer, and the Makadara Divisional Crime team, responded to the scene and confirmed the incident.
