DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua today joined several opposition leaders and mourners in Githunguri, Kiambu County, for the burial of Mama Lucia Wangui Thang’wa, the mother of Karungo wa Thang’wa, the Senator for Kiambu.
Family, friends and political leaders gathered to pay their last respects to the late matriarch, who was remembered as a devoted mother, a woman of faith and a pillar of strength to her family and community.
Speakers at the ceremony described Mama Lucia as an extraordinary matriarch whose life was defined by humility, service to God and dedication to her family.
Those who interacted with her said she always placed her family first and lived a life that inspired many to serve both God and humanity.
As she was laid to rest in Githunguri, leaders and mourners reflected on the legacy she leaves behind, noting that her kindness and commitment to faith touched many lives and will remain in the hearts of her children and all who knew her.
Leaders present offered prayers for the Thang’wa family, asking God to grant them strength during this difficult period and to grant the deceased eternal rest.
They also conveyed their heartfelt condolences to Senator Thang’wa and his family as they mourn the loss of their beloved mother.
