A man has been killed by a night club attendant in Ruiru,Kiambu county over Sh10 debt.
The incident followed an early morning altercation at a nightclub in Kihunguro area today.
According to a police report filed at Ruiru Police Station in the morning,the incident occurred at Estate Nightclub.
Witnesses say the deceased approached a bar attendant, identified as Tabitha Nganga, demanding payment of a KSh 10 debt she allegedly owed him.
The situation quickly escalated into a heated argument.
In the course of the dispute, the attendant reportedly picked up an empty spirit bottle, broke it, and used the jagged piece to stab the man on the right side of his neck.
The injured man attempted to flee the premises in search of help but collapsed a few meters from the bar and died on the spot.
Police officers from Ruiru, alongside detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Scenes of Crime personnel from Thika, visited and processed the scene.
The body of the deceased, who remains unidentified, was moved to the City Mortuary for preservation and postmortem examination.
The suspect is expected to face murder charges pending further inquiries.
