The government has officially degazetted Capitol Hill Police Station,Nairobi.
The move has triggered an urgent directive for the immediate vacation of the premises and redistribution of officers.
In a notice issued by a senior Officer based at the station,Tusca Opondo, all officers previously stationed at Capitol Hill have already been redeployed to other stations within the Kilimani sub-county and the wider region as part of the transition.
The directive further calls on all multi agency investigators with pending cases to urgently collect exhibits held at the station.
These include critical case materials such as motor vehicles and other items that were under police custody.
Members of the public with pending cash bail deposits have also been advised to promptly arrange for refunds.
The notice seen by DNK-International warns that any unclaimed funds risk being surrendered to the National Treasury if not collected within the stipulated time.
The sudden closure marks a significant administrative shift, although authorities have not yet publicly detailed the reasons behind the degazettement.
Affected parties have been urged to act without delay to avoid complications in ongoing investigations and financial losses.
