Homabay businessman Sangira dismiss appointment of Caroli Omondi as Azimio SG

By Our Reporter,Nairobi.

Homa Bay businessman Stephene Sangira has dismissed the appointment of Suba South MP Caroli Omondi as the Azimio Coalition Secretary General, terming the move, as inconsequential.

In a press statement, Sangira maintained that the electorate in Suba South and the greater Luo Nyanza region was firmly in the broad based government and termed the first term MP as a lone ranger.

“Caroli should read the signs of times and realise that the electorate in Suba South constituency are unhappy with his daily theatrics and the entire Nyanza region is firmly in the broad based government.

“The people of luo Nyanza have no time for opposition politics and that we are firmly behind President William Ruto, who is also the UDA Party Leader and ODM Party leader Dr Oburu Oginga.

“Let it be known to Caroli and his ilk amongst us that they are fighting a losing battle as the Nyanza region has embraced the working relations between the two major politcal parties” said Sangira, who challenged Caroli in the last general election, coming second.

He is also said to be eyeing the seat in next year’s election.

Caroli was appointed the new Azimio Coalition Secretary General during the movement’s National Executive Council meeting chaired by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday.

The meeting also appointed Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka as the Coalition’s national chairman.

Caroli has openly opposed the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)’s pact with the Kenya Kwanza government in a move likely to cost him his political seat come the next general election.

Sangira on the other hand commands grassroot support across Suba South constituency and is widely tipped to clinch the parliamentary seat come 2027.
