Police in ShauriMoyo,Nairobi have launched investigations into the suspected abduction of a hotel owner in Kamukunji Sub-County after he was reportedly seized by six men outside his premises in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The occurence of the incident was reported to police yesterday evening by Mohammed Amin, the manager of Paradise Hotel located opposite Pumwani Hospital.
Amin told police that his employer, Abdi Hakim, who owns the hotel, was abducted at around 3:00 a.m. shortly after arriving at the premises.
He alleged that the victim had just driven into the hotel compound in his Toyota Land Cruiser Prado registration number KDM 666P when six men suddenly confronted him.
The attackers allegedly bundled him into their own vehicle before speeding off to an unknown destination.
Amin further told police that the victim’s mobile phone was switched off immediately after the incident and his whereabouts have remained unknown since then.
He said that he delayed reporting the matter to the police as he initially hoped that his employer would return safely.
Police officers from the station rushed to the scene after the report was made and have since begun reviewing CCTV footage from the hotel and nearby areas to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) at Shaurimoyo have commenced investigations into the suspected abduction.
Police said the case is under investigation and further updates will follow as inquiries continue.
