DNK International [8:22 PM, 3/9/2026] kweyu: “I am deeply saddened by the tragic accident that occurred last night at Malaha Junction in Webuye, where several lives were lost and others injured.
According to reports, the first accident involved a motor vehicle and a motorcycle rider. As members of the public gathered at the scene, a trailer approaching the area rammed into the crowd, leading to the heartbreaking loss of at least 14 lives and leaving several others nursing injuries.
On behalf of the people and the County Government of Bungoma, I extend my deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in this devastating incident.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this extremely difficult time. May the Good Lord grant you strength and comfort, and may the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace.
I also wish a speedy and full recovery to those who were injured and are currently receiving treatment in our hospitals.
