Panic and disruption gripped Kibagare Slums on Monday morning after heavy rainfall caused the collapse of about 50 mabati houses, leaving residents scrambling for safety.
According to a report received at Spring Valley Police Station, the incident occurred in the morning.
The alert was raised by a Nyumba Kumi member Zakaria, who contacted police immediately after the structures gave way.
Police officers led by the Station Commander, together with the Disaster Management Team and officials from Nairobi City County, swiftly moved to the scene.
The area was cordoned off, and evacuation of residents was conducted to prevent further harm.
Two people sustained minor injuries after being hit by falling iron sheets and received prompt assistance.
Following a safety assessment, the Disaster Management Team certified the scene as safe.
Authorities have opened investigations into the incident.
