A devastating fire incident in the Coast area of Kawangware,Nairobi has left five rental houses reduced to ashes in the early hours of today morning.
According to a police report filed at Muthangari Police Station,the fire was reported by Nancy Wairimu Ndungu, a resident of the area, at around 2:48am.
The blaze reportedly broke out in one of her five block rental houses before rapidly spreading to the remaining structures.
Police officers from Muthangari Police Station, accompanied by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Dagoretti, rushed to the scene.
With the assistance of Nairobi County fire fighters, the inferno was eventually brought under control.
By the time the fire was extinguished, all five houses had been completely destroyed together with household property of unknown value.
Fortunately, no injuries or loss of life were reported.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established.
