Police in Nyeri are investigating a chilling missing person case.
This is after a Bishop cum boda boda operator disappeared under mysterious circumstances, leaving behind blood stained clothing at his home.
The missing man, identified as Bishop John Jomo Wangui, a boda boda rider operating within Nyeri Township, was reported missing by his wife Jane Muthoni Jomo on Tuesday morning.
According to the report filed at Nyeri Police Station at 11:35am, Bishop Wangui left his residence in the Jua Kali area at around 5:00am, saying he was going to pick up a customer using his motorcycle.
Moments later, his wife told police that she heard her husband shouting her name in distress from outside their compound.
When she rushed out, she was met with a disturbing scene, his jacket and T-shirt lay at the gate stained with blood, while his motorcycle was parked at its usual spot.
His mobile phone had been left behind inside the house.
His whereabouts remain unknown.
Police officers from Nyeri Central, accompanied by their DCI counterparts visited and documented the scene as investigations commenced.
A manhunt and search operation are currently ongoing.
Authorities have classified the case as Pending Under Investigation (P.U.I.), with DCI Nyeri Central taking over the probe.
Police have appealed to members of the public with any information that could help trace the missing man to report to the nearest police station.
