Narok Journalist CBO to Empower Young Girls at Dr. Masikonde Secondary School

Narok Journalist Community Based Organization (CBO) has reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility and community empowerment through an upcoming outreach program aimed at supporting young girls’ education and wellbeing.

The initiative is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 7 at Dr. Masikonde Secondary School, where the organization will donate sanitary towels to students.

Speaking ahead of the event, the Chairman of Narok Journalist CBO, Alex Leteipa Sikawa, said the program is part of the organization’s broader mission to promote dignity, confidence, and equal learning opportunities for young girls.

He noted that lack of access to sanitary products remains a major challenge that affects school attendance and academic performance among girls, especially in rural areas.

“The empowerment of young girls is an investment in the future of our society.

By providing sanitary towels, we are helping to reduce absenteeism and ensuring that girls remain focused on their education,” said Sikawa.

In addition to the donation exercise, Narok Journalists CBO will later hold a strategic meeting with the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) regional leader.

The meeting is expected to focus on media development, empowerment initiatives, and strengthening collaboration between journalists and regulatory institutions within the region.

The chairman further called upon well wishers, partners, and stakeholders to support the initiative either in kind or through financial contributions, emphasizing that collective effort is key to achieving lasting impact in the community.

Narok Journalists CBO continues to play a vital role in advocating for social change, empowering vulnerable groups, and fostering responsible journalism.

The upcoming empowerment drive at Dr. Masikonde Secondary School reflects the organization’s dedication to uplifting communities and creating opportunities for sustainable development.
