Parents, students, alumni, and stakeholders of Nyambaria High School have rejected the recently released KCSE results, terming them shocking, inconsistent, and unrepresentative of the school’s long-standing academic record.
They are now demanding an immediate independent audit and remarking of examination scripts.
In a strongly worded statement addressed to the Cabinet Secretary for Education,Julius Migos Ogamba, the stakeholders said the results reflect a sharp and unexplained departure from Nyambaria High School’s historical performance trends, stable mean grades, and strong internal assessments.
Nyambaria High School, a nationally recognized institution, has for decades produced top performing candidates and professionals across the country.
Stakeholders argue that the abrupt decline reflected in the latest KCSE outcomes cannot credibly represent the true ability and preparation of the candidates.
“These results point to serious failures in marking, grading, moderation, or results processing,” the statement reads, adding that innocent students are now bearing the cost through lost university placement opportunities, emotional distress, and damaged futures.
The group is demanding an immediate independent audit and remarking of affected scripts, alongside a transparent public explanation to account for the drastic deviation from the school’s established academic trajectory.
They further want urgent corrective measures put in place to protect candidates from irreversible academic and professional harm.
The stakeholders warned that failure to act promptly would leave them with no option but to mobilize for lawful protests, strikes, and collective action, insisting they will not remain silent as the future of their children and the reputation of a national school are undermined.
“The responsibility to act decisively and without delay rests squarely with the Ministry of Education,” the statement concluded.
The Ministry and the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) had not issued a response by the time of publication.
