Own goal earns Bandari Football Club three points during mid-week SPL match played at port city

Kenya Premier League (KPL) defending champs Kenya Police FC’s own goal after a second corner taken by host striker Darias Msagha denied the visiting team three points.

The scoreline results led to the defending champions being edged 1-0 by the host during mid-week league played at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa county.

Out of the corners kicks taken during the entire match the visiting team had 5 against the home team which had 3.

The home team’s second corner bore fruit and brought them into the match’s limelight.

Bandari’s win moves the club from 10th position to 7th position on the standing table with 27 points after playing 18 matches.

After the defending champs being denied three points in a litmus test during a mid-week fixture they remain in 4th position of the SportPesa league summit with 28 points after playing 18 matches on the second leg.

Kenya Police FC head coach Nicholas Muyoti said his club is still among the league contenders adding that the match results has not demoralized their quest to win the title for a second time running.
