A 33 year old man has lost his life after from a palm tree during a rainy season in Kilifi county.
The incident occured at Timboni Village in Kuruwitu when the victim fell from a coconut tree while tapping palm wine.
The incident was reported at Kijipwa Police Station by Kuruwitu Assistant Chief Jackson Yawa who informed authorities that the accident occurred on Wednesday in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Rama Mukutano and was tapping palm wine at the farm of Paul Deche.
It was reported that heavy rainfall at the time made the tree slippery, causing him to lose grip, slide, and fall.
He sustained injuries to his hands and other parts of the body.
Members of the public rushed him to Vipingo Health Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body was later moved to Kilifi County Referral Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination.
