Panic Grips Ruto Re-Election Team in Western Kenya

By Our Reporter,Kakamega.

Panic has reportedly gripped President William Ruto’s re-election campaign team in Western Kenya following claims that the National Intelligence Service (NIS) has raised concerns about the team’s performance in the region.

According to sources familiar with the matter, intelligence briefings to President that some of his key supporters have allegedly indicate that several members of the regional campaign team are not effectively advancing the President’s political agenda on the ground.

The team is said to be viewed as largely ineffective, with critics within the President’s inner circle claiming its messaging is failing to resonate with ordinary residents of the Western region.

A source who sought anonymity confided to DNK-International that the team, currently led by Kenneth Lusaka, the Governor of Bungoma County, could soon be reconstituted in a bid to strengthen the President’s political machinery ahead of the next electoral cycle.

The concerns reportedly stem from the team’s inability to counter the growing influence of the “Linda Mwananchi” political movement in the region.

Linda Mwananchi, led by among others Orange Democratic Movement Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna, has been steadily gaining traction among sections of voters in Western Kenya.

Political observers say the development could trigger fresh political realignments in the region as different factions position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
