Police Fires Three Shots During Petrol Station Dispute in Mlolongo

A late night fuel station dispute in Mlolongo escalated into a shooting incident after a police officer on guard duty fired three rounds at a motor vehicle, police have confirmed.

The incident occurred at Luqman Petrol Station after a disagreement over the issuance of an Electronic Tax Register (ETR) receipt.

According to police reports, businessman Antony Ngumbi Muturi from Syokimau had fueled his Range Rover Sport, car with fuel worth Sh5,506 and requested both the current and a previous ETR receipt, which the station could not provide.

A confrontation followed between Muturi and a pump attendant, after which the motorist attempted to drive away.

The attendant raised an alarm alleging the driver was a thief, prompting the officer on duty,an administration police Constable to open fire at the vehicle using an AK-47 rifle.

The driver stopped immediately.

Senior police officers from the area visited the scene and recovered the rifle and three spent bullet heads.

No injuries were reported with investigations going on.
