Police oficer arrested over shooting and robbery incident in Embakasi

A police officer has been arrested in connection with a shooting and robbery incident reported in Pipeline Estate, Embakasi,Nairobi.

According to a report filed at Kware Police Station yesterday,the incident was reported by Dennis Muchiri, resident of Wimasi area.

Muchiri stated that early morning hours while heading to his house, he was accosted by three men known to him.

The suspects allegedly blocked his way and attempted to snatch his mobile phone.

When he resisted, one of the attackers drew a firearm and shot him in the right shoulder, leaving him with two gunshot wounds.

The assailants managed to rob him of his mobile phone, a Tecno Spark Slim valued at Sh 45,000.

After the incident,the victim was rushed to Mission Care Hospital, where he was treated and later discharged in fair condition.

Acting on intelligence provided by the victim and members of the public, officers from Kware Police Station in collaboration with detectives from DCI Embakasi launched a swift operation that led to the arrest of Police Constable Vincent Korir.

Upon interrogation, the suspect confirmed he is a serving police officer attached to Reuben Police Station under the Nairobi region Headquarters.
