Police Probe Murder of Boda Boda Operator in Khwisero

Police in Khwisero, Kakamega County have launched investigations following the discovery of the body of a boda boda operator in a roadside thicket.

The cause of his death is suspected to be a murder incident.

The incident was reported to police at Khwisero Police Station by Ramadhan Kombo, a community policing member.

He alerted them via a mobile phone after discovering a body lying in a thicket beside the road at Eshiangwe “B” Village in Wambulishhe Sub-location, Kisa Central.

Police officers from the station accompanied by their counterparts from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), rushed to the scene along the Khwisero–Mulwanda tarmac road.

Upon arrival, officers established that the deceased, identified as Shadrack Okutoyi aged 34, was lying lifeless in the thicket.

Preliminary examination revealed that the body had three deep cut wounds,two on the face and another at the back of the head,raising suspicions of a brutal attack.

The deceased is said to have been a boda boda operator operating within the Khumailo area.

Investigators are yet to establish whether he had his motorcycle at the time of the incident, a detail that may be key in determining whether the attack was linked to robbery or other circumstances.

His body was moved to the Sonak Hospital Mortuary for preservation pending a post-mortem examination.

Police are tracking down the perpetrators.
