Kenya Premier League (KPL) defending champions Kenya Police FC will face a litmus test during a mid week fixture against Bandari Football Club to be played at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa county.

A win will push them to third position of the SportPesa league standing table and anything else will demoralize their quest to win the title for a second time running.

The defending champions are fourth on the season’s table with 28 points after playing 27 matches.

The coast based league team are in 10th position of the league table with 24 points after playing 17 matches.

KPL record champions Gor Mahia has consolidated its position at the summit league table with 36 points after playing 17 matches with their arch rivals AFC Leopards SC with same points after playing 18 matches but second on the table due to goals difference with Kogalo.

In the last league encounter the defending champions edged Mara Sugar FC while the Dockers share the league points with struggling Kariobangi Sharks FC to move the relegation zone.

They are bottom on the table standing with 14 points after playing 18 matches.
