Rastafarian Protesters Damage Security Scanner at Milimani Law Courts

A security scanning machine at Gate 2 of Milimani Law Courts was damaged on Friday afternoon after a group of Rastafarian protesters allegedly caused a disturbance at the court entrance.

According to a police report filed at Capitol Hill Police Station, the incident occurred at around 1:10 p.m. when the group attempted to access the court premises but was denied entry by security officers due to their alleged rowdy conduct and possession of Rastafarian paraphernalia.

The matter was reported by an Administration Police officer who is part of the security team stationed at the courts.

During the confrontation, one of the walk through scanning machines at Gate 2 was maliciously damaged.

Police officers from Capitol Hill Police Station responded to the scene shortly after the incident but found that the suspects had already fled.

Officers from the Nairobi Area Scenes of Crime unit later processed the scene to document the damage and collect evidence.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kilimani have launched investigations into the case, which has been recorded as malicious damage to property.

Authorities are working to identify and apprehend the suspects involved.
