Rusty Rifle Found in Tana Delta Farm

Residents of Mangalani area in Tana Delta Tana River County, were yesterday shocked after a rusty G3 rifle was discovered on a farm, prompting swift action from local authorities and police.

According to a report recorded at Mnazini Police Station,the discovery was first reported by Omar Buiti, a retired Assistant Chief of Mnazini Sub location.

He stated that at around 10:30am, he received a phone call from members of a women’s group known as the Jewis Group Dancers, who had stumbled upon the suspicious metallic object while working on their farm.

The women alerted the local administration, which in turn notified the police.

Officers drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Tana Delta, visited the scene and recovered the object.

It was later identified as a G3 rifle barrel, heavily rusted, raising concerns over its origin and how it ended up in the area.

The recovered exhibit has been secured, and investigations are ongoing to establish its source and whether it is linked to any criminal activity.

Police have assured residents that the matter is being treated with seriousness.
