Ruto address MCAS,Nairobians

President William Ruto today addressed Nairobi county assembly MCAS and a big crowd of people outside City Hall.
Below is the Presidents statement.

We are leveraging the Cooperation Agreement between the National Government and Nairobi City County to address longstanding challenges in the city and restore order to our capital city, the face of our nation.

This transformation includes the installation of 50,000 street lights, improved water supply with an additional 50,000 cubic metres a day, expansion of sewerage and sanitation by two 27km trunk sewer lines on both sides of Nairobi River, and a 60,000 cubic metres a day treatment plant.

Additionally, we are building 247km of roads in Nairobi, a solid waste management overhaul, and the establishment of a Nairobi Metropolitan Police Unit, among others.

As the National Government, we are changing the face of the city by building 180,000 housing units and market stalls, 112,000 of which are already under construction.

We are also building the Talanta Sports City Stadium, Bomas International Convention Complex, and plans for modernisation and expansion of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport are at an advanced stage.

We therefore call on Nairobi leaders and residents to come on board and support this bold and necessary course of transformation. As we deliver world-class infrastructure, let us all take a firm stand against lawlessness, impunity and cartelism.

Let us be the generation that makes Nairobi work, imposes order where there is disorder, restores dignity where there is neglect, defeats cartels where there is capture, chooses reform over fear, and courage over convenience.

Addressed a special session of the Nairobi County Assembly. Thanked the assembly for supporting the cooperation agreement between the National Government and Nairobi City County.
