President William Ruto’s Personal Assistant, Farouk Kibet, on Thursday paid a courtesy call on long serving Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli at his Bukwala home in Khwisero, Kakamega County.

Kibet said the meeting was constructive and engaging, focusing on matters of national development.

According to him, the discussions centred on advancing socio economic growth, promoting inclusive development and improving livelihoods, with particular emphasis on strengthening development initiatives across the Western Kenya region.

During the visit, Kibet was accompanied by Likuyani MP Innocent Mugabe, Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe, and former Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali.

Notably absent from the meeting was the area MP, Christopher Wangaya Aseka.

It was not immediately clear why he did not attend or whether he had been invited.

The visit underscores ongoing engagements between key figures in government and the labour movement on development and regional economic priorities.
