The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on Tuesday arraigned six suspects before the Kisii Chief Magistrates Court in connection with the alleged irregular award of a multi million shillings tender for the construction of the Homa Bay County Assembly office block.
The suspects, who were arrested on January 16, included Faith Adhiambo Apuko, former Clerk of the Homa Bay County Assembly Roseline Anyango Odhiambo, former CEC Lands, Homa Bay County Government; Patrick Tonui, former Quantity Surveyor at the Ministry of Public Works and Project Manager; James Mumali Oyukah and Mary Pauline Oduor Directors of Hartland Enterprises Limited.
The accused persons are alleged to have been involved in the irregular award of Tender No. HBCA/T/W6/2018-2019, valued at Sh𝟯𝟰𝟴,𝟵𝟮𝟳,𝟴𝟰𝟬 to Hartland Enterprises Limited during the 2019/2020 Financial Year.
Appearing before the Chief Magistrate, A. M. Obura, all the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.
The court granted each accused person a cash bail of Sh5 million or an alternative bond of Sh 30 million with a surety of a similar amount.
The matter will be mentioned on February 2.
