Stolen Camel Sale Deal Turns Bloody in Bangale

A 20 year-old man is fighting for his life at Garissa Referral Hospital after he was shot three times in a dispute over a stolen camel sale in Bangale, Tana River County.

Police at Bangale Police Station said the incident occurred on Tuesday night at Piyagadud Village.

The victim, identified as Said Muhamud, was reportedly shot in the chest, right hand and left leg.

According to the police report, the suspect, Ibrahim Daud, had earlier sold the victim a camel for Sh95,000.

However, the camel’s rightful owner later resurfaced and repossessed the animal, leaving the buyer at a loss.

The victim is said to have confronted the seller and demanded a refund.

An argument ensued, after which the suspect allegedly ran to his house, returned armed with an AK-47 assault rifle, and opened fire on the victim before fleeing to an unknown destination.

Police officers who visited the scene recovered one spent cartridge of ammunition.

Investigations have been launched over the shooting.
