Residents of Galedyertu,Tana River County are recovering from a fresh outbreak of inter-community clashes that left at least ten people injured on Friday.
According to a report logged at Hola Police Station, the incident was first reported by Karakacha Location Chief Osman Haji Dara.
The clashes, which erupted at around 9:00 a.m., involved members of the Wardei and Pokomo communities and are said to have been triggered by a dispute over the occupancy of the Tangamano cluster.
Police officers led by the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) from Hola Police Station responded swiftly to the scene and confirmed that the confrontation resulted in multiple injuries.
The victims, five from each community, sustained wounds inflicted by crude weapons including pangas and arrows.
All the injured individuals were rushed to Hola Referral Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment and are reported to be in stable condition.
Security officers have since intervened and urged both communities to exercise restraint and maintain peace as efforts to resolve the dispute continue at higher administrative levels.
Authorities confirmed that the situation is now under control, with heightened police presence to prevent further escalation.
