Thieves Break Into Parked Car, Steal Sh646,000 in Mombasa

A man has lost over Sh646,000 after thieves broke into his parked vehicle near a mosque in Mombasa.

The incident was reported at Central Police Station.

Abdi Abdullahi Ali, the complainant informed police that he had earlier on withdrawn Sh646,120 from Standard Chartered Bank located at Treasury Square.

He then placed the cash on the back passenger seat of his vehicle, a Toyota Succeed and drove to the area near Baluchi Mosque, close to Makadara Grounds, where he parked before proceeding for prayers.

Upon returning, he discovered that unknown suspects had broken into the vehicle by damaging the driver’s door lock and made away with the entire amount of money.

Police officers from Central Police Station, alongside detectives from DCI Urban, visited the scene and confirmed the incident.
