Police in Ugunja,Siaya county are investigating a theft incident in which unknown thieves stole fencing materials from a farm belonging to Cabinet Secretary for Energy Opiyo Wandayi.
According to a report filed at Sidindi Police Station,the incident was reported by farm manager Anania Odera.
He stated that during the night of March 4 and 5, at an unknown time, suspected thieves invaded the CS’s piece of land located at Sikalame area in Yiro West Sub-location, Yiro Location.
The farm was reportedly targeted by the suspects who made away with 50 angle line fencing poles, each measuring approximately 2.5 metres in length.
The stolen items are valued at about Sh 52,000.
Police officers visited and documented the scene as investigations into the incident commenced.
The Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Sidindi is handling the case, which remains pending under investigation.
