Two young women have reported a rape incident after being abducted by unknown assailants in the early hours of Wednesday in the Juja–Thika area of Kiambu County.
According to a police report filed at Juja Police Station today morning,the victims aged 23 and 21 both residents of the Juja sewage area, stated that the incident occurred at around 4:00 a.m. while they were on their way for morning prayers in Jomoko, Thika.
The two reported that they were accosted and abducted by two unknown men riding a motorcycle, with one of the suspects armed with a panga.
They were allegedly taken to a thicket in the Ndarugo area where the assault occurred before being abandoned.
After the incident, the victims managed to reach Thika Superhighway, where a Good Samaritan lorry driver offered them a lift back to the Juja sewage area.
They later sought help from a friend, who alerted the police.
Officers from Juja Police Station responded promptly and escorted the victims to the station before referring them to Ruiru Level Four Hospital for medical examination and treatment.
The case is currently pending under investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
