UDA Ready for Repeat Phase III Grassroots Elections Across 18 Counties

By Our Reporter,Nairobi.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has announced its preparedness for the Repeat Phase III Grassroots Elections scheduled for tomorrow Saturday, March 14.

The exercise is expected to involve hundreds of thousands of participants across the country.

Speaking to the media today, UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan, accompanied by National Elections Board (NEB) Chairperson Anthony Mwaura and other party directors, confirmed that all logistical and technological arrangements have been finalized ahead of the vote.

According to the party leadership, the elections will begin at 8:00 AM and run until 5:00 PM in eighteen counties, covering 8,819 polling centers.

The process has attracted more than 500,000 candidates vying for leadership roles at the grassroots level.

Each polling center will elect twenty representatives, drawn from diverse groups including youth, women, farmers, religious leaders, professionals, traders, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and Special Interest Groups, in addition to two gender representatives to ensure inclusive leadership.

To enhance efficiency, transparency, and credibility, the party has deployed 9,000 electronic voting tablets to manage the process in real time through an end-to-end digital system.

Once completed, the exercise is expected to produce 150,000 grassroots officials, forming what the party describes as the largest political grassroots structure in the country, with leaders directly elected by members at the polling center level.

Party officials expressed confidence that the elections will proceed smoothly and urged members to participate peacefully in strengthening the party’s grassroots structures.
