This verse is a divine correction to pride and self-reliance

By Pst Vincent Roy Agoya

Deuteronomy 8:18
“But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.”

This verse is a divine correction to pride and self-reliance. Every ability, opportunity, idea, and strength you have is not by chance—it is God working through you. Wealth is not just money; it is the power to create, influence, build, and establish impact. God is the source, and your success is tied to His covenant. When you forget Him, you risk losing alignment with the very grace that empowers you to prosper.

Remain conscious of God in your daily pursuits. Acknowledge Him in your work, decisions, and plans. Let gratitude guard your heart against pride and keep you rooted in dependence on Him.

Today, deliberately honour God as your source. Commit your skills, business, and plans to Him. Walk in obedience, steward what He has given you faithfully, and activate your God-given power to prosper with purpose.
