Woman of Asian Origin Missing in Mtito Andei

Police are investigating the disappearance of a 23 year-old woman of Asian origin who went missing after disembarking from a Mombasa-bound passenger train at Mtito Andei Railway Station on Thursday.

According to a report filed at Mtito Andei Railways Police Station on January 1 (new year),the incident was reported by the woman uncle Allarakia Salim.

He stated that his niece, Nausheem Farid, had boarded the Mombasa-bound Train N2 from Nairobi earlier that day.

Farid was travelling in Coach 5, Seat 60, while her 15-year-old sister, Nadra Farid, was seated in a different coach.

The two sisters reportedly remained in contact throughout the journey, frequently checking on each other until shortly before the train reached Mtito Andei.

However, upon arrival at Mariakani, Nadra went to check on her elder sister and learned from nearby passengers that Nausheem had alighted at Mtito Andei Railway Station.

CCTV footage reviewed by police later confirmed that Nausheem indeed disembarked from Train N2 at Mtito Andei and exited the station’s main gate on foot while carrying her luggage.

At the time she was last seen, Nausheem Farid was wearing blue long trousers and a white T-shirt, and was carrying a purple unbreakable suitcase.

Police are appealing to members of the public who may have seen the missing woman or have any information that could assist in tracing her whereabouts to report to the nearest police station
