Police in Bondo, Siaya County have arrested a primary school teacher after he was found locked inside a guest house room with a 17 year-old secondary school student.
Police from Bondo in their report indicate that the 45 years old teacher is suspected to have defiled the school girl.
The report which was filed yesterday in the evening was delivered to police by a member of the public who noticed a man entering a lodging behind Bondo Law Courts with a schoolgirl dressed in full uniform.
Officers rushed to the premises identified as Obit Guest House in Barka-Owino sub-location.
Upon arrival, they found the suspect, identified as Samuel Otieno Lenya, a teacher at Dunya Primary School, locked inside a room with the minor.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect had booked the room earlier at around 11.00 and paid Sh 500 through M-Pesa transaction.
The student, a Form three learner at Akoko Secondary School, had reportedly just been released from school following closure.
She is said to reside with her parents in Nyakach, Kisumu County.
The room attendant, identified as Benta Akinyi Owuor, was also arrested in connection with the incident.
The minor was immediately taken to Bondo Sub-County Hospital for medical attention, while efforts to contact her parents are ongoing.
