Empowerment Meeting Draws 2,000 in Athi River as Leaders Rally Youth and Women

An empowerment meeting attended by about 2,000 members of the public was held at Mavoko Primary School in Athi River, Machakos County, with leaders urging wananchi to embrace peaceful elections, register as voters and take advantage of empowerment opportunities.

The forum which was held on Thursday, focused on women and youth empowerment while emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace before, during and after elections.

Participants were encouraged to actively participate in the democratic process by registering as voters and exercising their constitutional right to vote.

Leaders also called on women and young people to seize available economic and empowerment opportunities aimed at improving livelihoods and promoting development.

Among those who attended were Mwala MP Vincent Kawaya, Machakos Town MP Caleb Mutiso Mule, Masinga MP Joshua Mbithi Mwalyo, National Irrigation Board Chairman Maluki, Machakos gubernatorial aspirant Waita Nzioka, Kinanie MCA Francis Kavyu and National Government Administration Officers led by Mavoko Division Assistant County Commissioner Mohat.
